Whether you want to learn English, earn your high school equivalency diploma, or build the skills you need to start a healthcare career, our adult literacy programs are here to help. Our adult literacy programs are offered through the Iowa Valley Education and Training Center, with classes available in Marshalltown, Grinnell, and Iowa Falls. Classes are free or low-cost, and all ability levels are welcome.

Our Programs
English Language Learners
Learn to speak, read, write, and listen in English — at any level, from beginner to advanced. Classes are open to people from any country or culture and are offered across Central Iowa.
High School Equivalency / GED®
Earn your Iowa High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) by preparing for the HiSET exam. Open to adults 17 and older who are no longer enrolled in high school.
Pre-CNA Training
Combine English language learning with preparation for a Certified Nursing Assistant career. This program bridges our ELL classes to full CNA training at one of three Iowa Valley campuses.
