Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD) does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its education programs and activities. Title IX prohibits sex discrimination, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and discrimination related to pregnancy or related conditions. IVCCD is committed to responding promptly and equitably to reports and to providing supportive measures when appropriate.

If you have experienced sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking, you may report it to IVCCD’s Title IX Coordinator for your campus or location.

Get Help and Support
IVCCD may provide supportive measures whether or not a formal complaint is filed. Depending on the situation, these may include class or schedule changes, academic support, housing-related adjustments, work-related adjustments, no-contact directives, leave options, or referral to counseling and other support resources. Supportive measures are individualized, non-disciplinary, and provided without fee when appropriate.

Pregnant and Parenting Students
Iowa Valley Community College District is committed to supporting students who are pregnant or parenting. Under Title IX, pregnancy and related conditions are protected from sex discrimination in all education programs and activities.
Students who are pregnant or experiencing related conditions are entitled to reasonable accommodations and support to continue their education.
Students have the right to:
- Continue participating in classes, programs, and activities
- Receive reasonable accommodations, such as modified seating, breaks, or temporary adjustments
- Take medically necessary leave for pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions
- Return to the same academic and extracurricular status held prior to leave
- Make up missed work, when appropriate
- Access the same services provided to students with temporary medical conditions
- Be free from discrimination and harassment related to pregnancy or parenting status
Private space is available for students who need to pump or breastfeed:
- Ellsworth Community College: Osgood Library
- Marshalltown Community College: Room 406A
Additional arrangements may be available upon request.
The District can help connect students with support services, which may include:
- Academic support and flexibility
- Referrals to childcare and community resources
- Health and counseling services
Students are encouraged to reach out early to discuss available options.
