Ambassador of the Year: The Ambassador of the Year Awards are designed to recognize community members or organizations representing IVCCD’s Core Values through their service or accomplishments that have directly benefited IVCCD and/or its students.

Ambassador of the Year Award to Adam Nederhoff

The award nomination read, in part, “Adam has been a huge supporter of the ECC basketball program, but also our college as a whole. He exemplifies what the ‘community’ part is of college. He worked closely with Timbukbru and helped sponsor a fan bus to two of our games. He has also donated substantial time and energy to fundraising for our Eclub and foundation.”

Nederhoff is an alumnus of Ellsworth Community College and serves on the Foundation Board.

Ambassador of the Year Award to RARE Group

The award nomination read, in part, “The RARE group has been instrumental in providing quality learning experiences for both ECC and MCC students over the last year. When no other rehab facilities would open their doors to students, Sonja and Jodeane welcomed our students without hesitation. The RARE team provided clinical experiences for the MCC pre-veterinary students and ECC conservation tech students on several Saturdays in Fall of 2023. They also provided on-site programming at MCC for Intro Biology students (49 students and 24 Biology major students) during the Fall of 2023.In the Spring of 2024, again they gave up their free to time to help with educational sessions at the MCC Pre STEM fair, hosting over 50 students in their sessions. This was a unique opportunity in that the partnership benefited both campuses by providing clinical opportunities to both MCC and ECC students.”

Sandy Pickup accepted the award on behalf of Raptor Advocacy Rehab Education (RARE).
