Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Sociology program available online?

Yes. It's fully online, instructor-led, on the same weekly schedule as on-campus, with access to tutoring, advising, and all four campus locations.

What's the difference between the Sociology AA and the Human Services Diploma?

The Sociology Transfer Major AA is built to move into a four-year sociology or social science program. The Human Services Diploma is a shorter, standalone credential for students who want to move into direct-service work — nonprofits, social services, community organizations — without transferring first.

What careers can this lead to?

Sociology graduates go on to work in nonprofit organizations, criminal justice, and public policy, along with research and data analysis roles that draw on the program's focus on studying culture, behavior, and social issues.

Does this program transfer to a four-year university?

Yes — the AA is designed as a direct path into a four-year sociology degree.

Does online cost more than on-campus?

Per-credit tuition is the same rate, but online sections add a distance learning fee. See Tuition and Fees for current per-credit costs.
