IVCCD Board Swore in New Board Secretary
IOWA FALLS – During her first Board meeting on Wednesday, Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD) President Dr. Anne Howsare Boyens had the opportunity to participate in the swearing-in ceremony for the new Board Secretary, Abigail Pelzer. Pelzer will also serve as the Assistant to the President. She started in her role on Monday, November 6.
The Board also welcomed incoming representative Amber Danielson. Danielson will be sworn in during the December meeting. There will be a reception for outgoing Director Jackie Pippen before the December Board meeting. She has served on the Board of Directors since December 2021.
Board Approved New Jobs Training Agreement
The Board approved a new jobs training agreement with Ritchie Industries for $4,999. This is their sixth training agreement with Iowa Valley. In this training agreement, welding training will be provided by Business and Community Solutions.
Ellsworth to Participate in Hardin County Hazard Mitigation Plan
A Hardin County Hazard Mitigation Plan has been developed with the Hardin County Emergency Management Homeland Security staff. Ellsworth has been participating in the development of the plan along with other cities and educational institutions in Hardin County. The plan is required to receive FEMA or other federal funding in the case of a disaster.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for December 13, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at Marshalltown Community College and will be available via Zoom.
